Intellectual Property Counsel The candidate will provide research, legal counsel, recommendations, and alternatives for complex intellectual property legal questions and issues. Draft, negotiate, and counsel on contracts with intellectual property provisions. Draft, negotiate, counsel on, and file legal documents, including patent applications, responses to USPTO office actions, opinions, contracts, memos, and registrations. Assist senior attorneys in analyzing issues to identify legal problems, research applicable laws and practices, and formulate solutions and counsel. Review legal documents for compliance with applicable laws. Must have 1 year of experience in a law firm, corporate legal, or government legal environment. Should have Juris Doctor degree or equivalent degree. USPTO registration as a patent attorney is required. Bachelor of Science, or equivalent degree, in engineering, preferably in the electrical or mechanical arts or experience drafting patent applications in these areas is must. Knowledge and experience in intellectual property law, in particular patent law is essential. Knowledge and experience in legal risk and conflict management is required. Ability to perform legal research. Knowledge and experience in drafting, advising on, and negotiating contracts, in particular contracts and provisions relating to intellectual property is essential.
