Special Risks and Resources Manager Duties: Provides management and support for the Special Risk and Resources unit, RM Member Solutions. Manages and supervises assigned staff, monitors and evaluates performance, and mentor and guide employee development. Develop and deliver enterprise quality training, resources and other materials that may include articles, job aids, checklists, best practices, and guidance on risk management topics and other education-related issues. Develop training and deliver presentations to special risks to Fund members, internal staff, and external groups on risk management topics and other education-related issues. Develop, implement, and manage new member/new program participation onboarding processes. Assists with divisional projects and initiatives. Provides input and assistance in the development and monitoring of the unit’s annual budget. Participate in projects and perform other duties as assigned by the Division Director.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: Four year college degree in business, safety and health, risk management, insurance, or pre-law; advanced degree preferred. Certifications and licenses preferred: CSP, ARM, JD Degree, or similar professional licenses or designations. 5-8 years progressively responsible experience in safety and health, risk management, insurance with public sector emphasis, or educational law. 3 years of supervisory experience and financial management desired. Subject matter expertise knowledge in risk management, insurance, cyber and data security, or other emerging legal and regulatory issues affecting public education. Knowledge of supervisory and mentoring principles to lead and develop staff . Superior skills and ability to develop complex presentations to sophisticated audiences including executive management, trustees, and administrators. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with colleagues, external contacts, and vendors. Possess exceptional oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of general accounting and business practices to effectively manage budgets. Perform effectively in environments with frequent workload changes and competing demands. Strong computer skills.
