Senior Advisor, Legal Counsel The candidate will report to the Vice President - Corporate Legal. Will be an ERISA specialist working on a wide range of employee benefits and executive compensation matters. Provide advice on ERISA, tax and corporate law compliance matters relating to employee benefits and executive compensation programs. Partner with clients in Human Resources, Tax and Accounting to ensure compliant administration of employee benefit plans. Draft plan documents, agreements, and employee communications. Negotiate contracts with third party health, welfare and retirement plan service providers. Assist corporate attorneys on addressing employee benefits and executive compensation issues in mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other privacy laws as they relate to company's employee benefit plans. Effectively manage outside counsel.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a J.D. degree and at least one State Bar admission. Must have 2-5 years of experience in providing legal advice regarding employee benefit plans, compensation programs and general ERISA matters. Some familiarity with securities law disclosure and managing employees benefits issues in mergers and acquisitions is preferred. Should have experience working with qualified retirement plans, health and welfare benefits and executive compensation programs.
