Corporate Counsel, Regulatory The candidate will advise Product, Marketing, Sales, Fulfillment, Finance, Tech, and other teams on laws and regulations, including those related to privacy and data security, telemarketing/TCPA, attorney advertising and other attorney regulatory issues, negative options, truth-in-advertising, securities, and email marketing. Provide ongoing legal counsel to all levels of internal business owners on strategic product initiatives. Develop and implement various corporate legal compliance initiatives and training programs. Supervise and oversee the work product of paralegals or junior attorneys. Effectively mentor and train junior members of the legal department. Contribute to other legal department goals and duties as needed. JD licensed to practice law in the state (or eligible for the state’s Registered In-House Counsel Program) and 3+ years of high-level, relevant experience practicing with a law firm or in-house legal department required. Expertise in at least one of privacy and data security, telemarketing/TCPA, attorney advertising and other attorney regulatory issues, negative options, truth-in-advertising, securities, or email marketing (from a litigation perspective is acceptable) required. 5+ years of relevant work experience some in-house experience is preferred. Experience with online commerce and marketing preferred. Expertise in multiple regulatory areas, including privacy and data security, telemarketing/TCPA, attorney advertising and other attorney regulatory issues, negative options, truth-in-advertising, securities, and email marketing required. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate complex legal concepts confidently and effectively with all levels of the legal team required.
