ProfileCounsel Duties: Structure, draft and negotiate a broad range of agreements for video production and distribution, talent, content acquisition, advertising, music licensing, social media marketing, research and other matters essential to a media company. Review releases, agreements with influencers and talent, distribution deals, venue rentals, sponsorship agreements, vendor contracts, online terms and other legal documents. Advise on privacy, rights of publicity, copyright, trademark and other matters. Ensure the company complies with all relevant laws, including FTC guidelines and privacy regulations. Conduct pre-broadcast and pre-publication reviews and fair use screenings for video, podcast and editorial content. Assist with the creation, implementation, and improvement of process and best practices.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Law degree with strong academic performance. Must be admitted to practice and active member of New York Bar. 3+ years relevant experience at top law firm. Additional experience in-house at a digital media or video production company preferred. Extensive knowledge of intellectual property and entertainment law, marketing rules and other regulations impacting a media business. Skill at drafting and negotiating a variety of contracts and agreements. Ability to work closely with business teams in a fast-paced environment. Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills. Comfort working under tight delivery deadlines and balancing a diverse set of projects.
