Domestic Violence Attorney The candidate will provide access to the justice system for those who need it the most through its local legal services offices, Legal Services of the state and Farmworker Legal Services, as well several statewide advocacy programs. Provide a wide range of legal representation and advocacy to victims of crime, primarily domestic violence survivors, under the federal Victims of Crime Act (VOCA). Focus on emergency legal needs (e.g. personal protection order cases, emergency custody orders) and also holistic services (e.g. eviction defense and accessing public benefits when that case assists the victim in stabilizing their life after a crime). Will be supported by a statewide expert in family law. License to practice law in the state or be eligible to waive in or to take the next state bar examination required. Demonstrated commitment to underserved populations, 2+ years of family law experience, and Spanish language skills preferred.
