Senior Legal Counsel, Global Legal Services The candidate will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operation of this GLS talent-development program, as well as provide critical leadership, training, supervision, and mentorship to the early career attorneys participating in the program. Will help continue to develop ideas to refine and grow this innovative program. Assist in managing the GLS team and performing duties as a lead of a global team of early career attorneys who perform work for many of the legal groups in firm’s LGR department. Supervise, mentor, and lead, with little guidance and supervision. Counseling, negotiating, drafting, and approving agreements and other legal documents for a global legal team, supporting a broad variety of work including software licensing, procurement, product development, corporate governance, compliance, and intellectual property. Reviewing standard templates for recurring commercial transactions and learning firm’s business models, including legal and business-related requirements. Advising on rights, obligations, risks, and interpretation of terms and conditions. Review and triage incoming transactions and make assignments to the GLS team. Collaborate and coordinate with sales, finance, procurement, marketing, engineering, and business unit teams, as necessary, to support revenue, process transactions, and address corporate policies/processes, and escalate legal issues as they arise. Provide consistent feedback, training, guidance, and mentorship to attorneys and legal specialists on the GLS team. Assist with developing training and support materials and refining processes to drive greater efficiency and improve training for attorney. Review and negotiate a variety of commercial transactions, as needed to support the goals of the team. Support the head of GLS, as needed, on special projects and other tasks. Must have Law degree, license with a State Bar or equivalent, and 8+ years of relevant experience. Extensive prior legal experience in one or more areas of law, experience in multiple areas is preferred. Broad working knowledge of, and an ability to analyze, abstract legal concepts in other areas of law outside one's specialty is required.
