ProfileAssociate Attorney The candidate will support the General Counsel ("GC") who is responsible for the legal affairs of the various companies which make up the group of Companies. Will be in charge of the compliance activities of the companies with an emphasis on aiding the company and company clients with maintaining compliance with federal and state laws and regulations as they relate to corporate activities and employee benefit plans. Maintain a catalog of all Key company contracts and agreements. Provide legal counsel and support to the executive team and all levels of employees and unofficially to company insurance brokers and company clients. Advise the company and senior management on a broad range of federal and state regulatory and compliance matters, including identifying areas of risk and making suggestions for improvement. Ensure that the corporate entities maintain compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations that impact their businesses. Ensure that the employee benefit plans offered and administered by the company are compliant with all federal and state laws and regulations. Keep informed of industry-specific regulations. Maintain corporate contracts and manage contract information tracking. Advise on employment matters in coordination with Human Resources. Research and analyze law and regulation for the preparation of legal memoranda. Provide advice and counsel to the company employees on business matters. Analyze and summarize legal documents. Interpret laws, rulings and regulations for the company leadership. Attend conferences and seminars related to benefits administration and insurance regulation. A Juris Doctor (JD) and bar admission in good standing required. 5+ years of relevant experience required. Experience: with compliance requirements of federal and state law and regulations; with ERISA, employee benefits, health insurance, and HIPAA privacy issues; with contract control procedures required. Familiarity with periodic reporting, regulatory and corporate governance mandates required. Law firm experience a plus. Outstanding communication skills required. Proficiency in Word and experienced with Excel required.
