Director of New Business Intake Duties: Developing, implementing, and maintaining standards of ethical conflict identification and resolution including facilitating the resolution of potential conflicts. Monitoring and ensuring compliance with established conflicts checking policies, processes, and procedures. Developing and implementing training programs for the NBI staff. Evaluating and recommending solutions to enhance conflict check process, including technology tools, outside credit information companies, on-line research databases, investigative services, etc. Working with firm Ethics Partners and Ethics counsel on conflicts analysis and resolution as needed. Working with firm management to resolve any business conflict issues identified. Act as a resource in answering questions from other firm personnel relative to the new business intake process, and policies.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: JD Degree and admission the DC Bar (active and in good standing). 6+ years’ of law firm (or other professional services firm) experience in a lawyer role, including 2+ years of conflict work at a law firm and legal, writing, or research experience related to the skills and duties of the position as described. 3+ years’ of experience working with and/or managing a team within a law firm (or other professional services firm). Working knowledge of the D.C. rules of professional conduct is also required. Excellent project management and organizational skills, including ability to delegate and work effectively under pressure with minimal supervision. Familiarity with computer systems in use at law firms including business intake systems and research systems such as Moody’s, Bureau van Dijk (Orbis, Compliance Catalyst, World Compliance), LexisNexis and others.
