ProfileCorporate Counsel - Compliance The candidate's responsibilities: Advance and further refine, and support implementation and education on, Company’s existing regulatory compliance program to ensure compliance with all applicable rules and regulations, including but not limited to the anti-bribery regulations and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, the U.S. Anti-Kickback Statutes, the Stark Laws, the False Claims Act, HIPAA, the sunshine act regulations, and export control regulations. As required, conduct internal investigations into allegations of violations of law or Company policy. Counsel will also serve as a company liaison with federal, state and local law enforcement if necessary. Advise members of the business regarding how to implement initiatives in a manner that is consistent with compliance policies and best practices. Conduct periodic internal audits of compliance programs. Compile and analyze information from such audits to propose revisions to compliance policies and procedures as needed. Serve on a collaborative teams and committees to provide input and education on compliance related topics, such as the company’s Grant Committee. Update legal and compliance department colleagues on developments in the industry regarding significant or emerging legal and compliance risks. Maintain knowledge of related legislative, regulatory and judicial developments and trends that may impact areas of responsibility and remain current with related global laws and regulations applicable to medical device manufacturers.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have JD degree. Should have 4-8 years of relevant experience with compliance programs. Relevant industry experience (e.g., medical device, pharmaceuticals, etc.) or in highly regulated environments is strongly preferred. Prior experience advising medical device manufacturers on regulatory and compliance issues in a law firm or in-house setting is strongly desired. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively, with a solution-oriented approach, in teams within legal, business, and functional areas. High level of professionalism with strong judgement and commitment to ethical issues. Strong verbal and written communication skills, effectively communicating sound legal advice coupled with a strong understanding of business needs.
