Staff Attorney/Program Coordinator Responsibilities: Provide direct legal representation (in settlement conferences or court) to clients as appropriate. Provide legal advice, consultation and/or targeted referrals to outside legal providers if necessary. Provide mediation and negotiation services when appropriate. Manage an individual caseload, maintain regular clinic hours, recruit and supervise interns and volunteers to assist in meeting goals of position as well as enhance the resources available to the community. Assist with fund development and ensure funding obligations including contract obligations and reporting requirements.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Admission to the California Bar; supervisory experience; program development experience; law experience; strong commitment to social justice; strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish; ability to advocate on behalf of immigrants in the media, community forums, and other venues; good public speaking skills; ability to engage in strategic planning regarding the direction of legal services work.
