Legal Invoice Quality Assurance Analyst Duties: Drive the results of the LBA Team quality assurance process by conducting review of LBA Team Legal Invoice Analysts’ line item adjustments, verifying the compliance to legal billing guidelines by law firms and vendor submitting invoices, verifying the accuracy of the UTBMS task codes (Fee, Activity and Expense codes) applied to invoice line items, making further adjustments to invoice line items as necessary while documenting reasons for any additional adjustments made to invoice line items and identifying the billing guideline violated and the rationale for the amount adjusted, and forwarding the audited and peer-reviewed legal invoice through the review chain as required. Promptly and professionally resolve law firm appeals by receiving and organizing law firm requests for reconsideration from any team leader or senior manager(s) and/or work the intake queue for requests for reconsideration, addressing requests for reconsideration of adjusted amounts by law firms, working with law firms via written and telephonic communications to professionally resolve disputed adjusted invoice line items, and reviewing appealed legal invoice entries efficiently and accurately. Review, analyze and evaluate legal fee and cost/expense in appealed invoice entries. Make audit and adjustment decisions in a law firm appeals context while exercising discretion and sound judgment. Gather key information regarding the adjustment history and the LBA Team’s communication history on a disputed line item. Support internal Team Leads and Senior Manager in documenting performance metrics for internal use and use with clients and law firms. Communicate and coordinate with audit team and appeals team members.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: JD Degree degree from an ABA-accredited law school. A combination of some of the following relevant experience: Legal invoice review and analysis experience in a legal invoice analyst role. Experience in auditing claims litigation o Experience in handling appeals of legal invoice claims adjustments. Experience with direct communication with law firms in a legal invoice review context. Experience with handling conflict with law firms, in writing and telephonically o Highly developed communication skills, including both excellent written and verbal skills Strong communications skills and the ability to organize and motivate team members in a matrix environment are essential. Ability to work collaboratively with people within the LegalView BillAnalyzer Team and throughout the entire organization, while providing constructive feedback to LegalView BillAnalyzer management. Problem Solving: Capable of independent thinking and rendering sound decisions, astute at identifying and engaging the necessary resources to help in decision making, and ability to take quick actions to identify and resolve the cause of any problem. Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) skills.
