Contract Attorney The candidate will provide legal services, support and advice to the Library, its employees and departments. Duties: Legal research and writing; Contract and document drafting and review; Litigation management; Record-keeping and file management; Development of library policies and procedures; Attendance at meetings and interfacing with Library staff as a Legal Department representative. JD degree from accredited law school and 1-2 years of legal experience required. Member of the State Bar, or membership in at least one state bar and commitment to gaining admittance to the State Bar required. Ability to communicate and relate legal issues to legal and non-legal staff required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, to lawyers and non-legal staff alike required. Interest in not-for-profit and cultural organizations preferred.
