VP, General Counsel Duties: Advise senior management on wide range of legal issues relating to Company business, including new business endeavors, corporate organization and governance, state and federal regulatory issues, employment/labor law issues, dispute avoidance and resolution and all aspects of commercial law. Will be responsible for overseeing department staff in matters relating to the Company’s legal and compliance affairs. Will lead, participate and/or manage arbitrations of commercial and employment disputes. Will manage Company’s litigation and lead, review, negotiate and draft a wide variety of effective commercial contracts, vendor contracts and intellectual property licenses with third parties.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Excellent credentials from an accredited Top-Tier Law School and undergraduate school. Mid/large law firm experience with a business background. Active member in good standing of the California Bar. 10 years' Corporate Counsel experience in a multinational manufacturing and/or distribution company. Prior experience as attorney in private practice of an international law firm advantageous. Practical experience demonstrating familiarity with Compliance Management Systems (e.g. prior experience as Compliance Officer ) advantageous Experience strongly preferred in Product Liability, Warranty, Sales/Marketing, Risk Management, Procurement, Antitrust, Process Management, Project Management, Human Resources, Distribution/Manufacturing, Compliance, Finance/Credit, and Purchasing. Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills. Strong leadership and negotiation skills. Strong document drafting skills. Strong social skills Skilled in problem solving and decision making. Proficient with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to coordinate services with outside counsel. Interfacing with internal business units (i.e., senior management, management from all business areas) and external contacts (i.e., Federal/State government agencies, outside counsel, customers).
