Program Manager The candidate will create and maintain relationships with potential nonprofit clients, attorney volunteers, and funders throughout central and west Michigan. Will manage clinics, workshops, legal projects, and community partnerships with law firms and in-house counsel departments. Identify and explore new opportunities to involve volunteer attorneys. Coordinate CLR activities in west and central Michigan with firm’s additional core competencies: Neighborhood Exchange, Sustainable Community Initiatives, and Neighborhood Economic Development. Provide input on designing education, outreach, policy, planning, and technical projects that address common client issues. Generate ideas about new program concepts, business opportunities, and partnerships that connect firm’s legal and policy programs with the other core competencies. Support the organization’s communications plan including contributing to content for the website, newsletters, and other internal or external communications. Support activities to raise funds for legal and policy programs, including developing program concepts and helping to prepare grant proposals to fund them. Build community networks of MCR support with the nonprofit, legal, community development, government, and philanthropic communities in central and west Michigan. Strengthen relationships with the private bar by attending conventions, section meetings, and other events. Support volunteer outreach through business development activities such as lunches, coffee meetings, etc.. Present at community meetings, conferences, trainings, speaker panels, and other public forums as approved by Program Director or CEO. Proactively promote firm’s products and services and recruit new clients. Assist with evaluation of the referral program. Should preferably have undergraduate degree in Urban Planning, Social Work or Nonprofit Management. Must have JD degree and admitted to practice in the State of Michigan. Should have 2+ years of work experience. Experience working with community organizations and the nonprofit sector is preferred. Proficiency in Salesforce or similar client management system is advantageous.
