Legal Counsel The candidate will work closely with internal clients on all aspects of employment law and HR issues to support the legal needs in the Americas (primarily US, but also jurisdictions such as Canada, Brazil and Mexico). Provide daily counsel to human resources managers, and various business units on substantive legal areas including recruiting, hiring, employee relations, discipline and terminations, compliance and benefits. Support and work with members of the wider legal team on global initiatives. Provide guidance to the company regarding employment law issues present in litigation, customer and vendor contracts, acquisitions, outsourcing, internal policies, training, and corporate communications. Manage the company’s employment claims and litigation working both independently and with the wider team, and managing external counsel. Must have JD degree from accredited law school with 3-5 years’ experience in a law firm and/or in-house position. Should have admission in good standing to practice law in Illinois. Strong knowledge of employment law and practices in the US. Knowledge of employment law and practices in other jurisdictions in the Americas is preferred. Demonstrable knowledge of the IT sector is desired.
