Staff Counsel The candidate will be responsible for assisting senior attorneys with advising the Company on matters relating to a broad range of legal areas such as corporate, commercial, transactional, litigation, real estate, intellectual property, labor and employment, company policies, document and data management, regulatory and other legal and compliance matters. Document drafting, analysis and review relating to a variety of business-related situations. Handle legal research and analysis. Assist: with various matters involving commercial and employment litigation, including responding to discovery requests and subpoenas; with guiding and drafting company policies; the Human Resources department with compliance matters, including advice regarding proper responses to garnishments; with legal hold management and development of data and document retention policies; with keeping the Company abreast of current developments in legal and regulatory developments and determine impact on Company services; with intellectual property matters. Assess and mitigate risk associated with development of new business relationships, models, service offerings and/or business methods. Work collaboratively with other members of the legal department and outside counsel. Participate in other duties as assigned. J.D. Degree required; strong academic credentials preferred. 4+ years experience with major law firm, corporate law department or equivalent; Industry experience preferred. Must be licensed to practice law (and in good standing) in at least one jurisdiction. Demonstrated ability to influence business leaders and impact decision-making Excellent project management skills, writing skills, listening and oral communications skills, diplomacy, finesse and interpersonal skills. Strong business judgment and skill in distinguishing between high and low priority legal issues required. Ability: to analyze complex legal matters; to work in a fast-paced, changing environment; to work independently or on a team; to effectively communicate with and influence business leaders at all levels of the organization required.
