Counsel / Senior Counsel The candidate provides general legal advice and supports the related needs of the Company’s Alternative Services business with a primary focus on customer and vendor contracting. Direct Internal Liaisons: Associate General Counsel, Alternative Services. Indirect Internal Liaisons: Key business managers, sales personnel; other members of the Legal Department (globally). Draft, negotiate and administer contracts for customers of the Company. Oversee and advise junior attorneys and non-attorneys with respect to contracting process and substantive maters. Contracts include customer service agreements, license agreements, outsource agreements, and NDAs. Respond to requests for legal advice from business unit managers; responsible for designated legal department matters across the company. Prepare correspondence and respond to inquiries on behalf of the business units to external clients. Participate in and provide advice on legal ramifications of client transactions. Participate in or lead specific projects as requested, such as litigation support matters and legal advice in support of new services. Perform any other duties required of Legal Department attorneys, which may include legal research, litigation management and corporate administration matters.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate must be a graduate of an accredited law school and have passed, at a minimum, a state Bar exam. Legal Experience: 5+ years prior experience in a law firm or in-house legal department. Commercial contract experience required; investment fund/collective investment scheme and fund administration experience extremely helpful. Supervision and mentoring experience preferred. Knowledge of financial services industry preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills (e.g., presentation, listening and writing/drafting) required. Interpersonal skills necessary include strong decision making ability, persuasion, negotiation, cooperation and diplomacy. Ability to work under tight deadlines, work independently and manage a substantial workload is required, as are strong document and spreadsheet skills,
