Legal Counsel The candidate will directly reports to the Head of Operative Law. The position is responsible to support the Head of Operative Law in the management of all legal issues within the Group, especially the firm’s subsidiaries. Responsibilities: Act as main entry point and contact window for defined operative legal issues as well as management and escalation of said issues; Provide commercial legal support to the firm businesses’ locations, in day-to-day business activities including but not limited to: contract drafting, negotiation, review and administration as well as risk identification and mitigation; Main liaison point between business and external counsel in defined fields and management of said relationships; Provide support to firm’s businesses with respect to compliance and regulatory legal affairs (e.g. employment, tax and customs law etc.) and support business with corporate administration of legal entities and other subsidiaries; Assume role as compliance officer for defined firm’s legal entities; Monitor developments in legislation and legal practice in relevant jurisdictions; Serve as Corporate Secretary of defined firm’s legal entities. Management of defined legal team.
Qualification and Experience
Must possess advanced university degree in Law (JD, Master of Laws or equivalent) and bar admission, additional international post-graduate degree (LLM or MBA) welcome. 5 years’ experience as in-house counsel in the field of manufacturing/engineering or equivalent experience in a law firm specializing in commercial/contractual law in an international context. Experience in personnel/team management, business experience in other positions a plus. Record of strong academic, professional and personal achievement. Excellent and proven skill at drafting and negotiating contracts in an international business environment. Fluency in English required and preferably also in German, any other languages a plus. Excellent communication skills: ability to communicate and obtain results across all management levels. Interpersonal and consultative traits providing credibility with all levels of management across multiple functions.
