Contract Writer The candidate will review, analyze and draft reinsurance contract documentation for all lines of reinsurance business, and prepare ancillary documents as required, including letters of intent and special endorsements, etc., escalating to the Unit Manager or relevant authority as appropriate. Create alternative wordings to simultaneously meet client needs and comply with General Underwriting Guidelines and market standard wordings. Adhere to unit quality assurance procedures (e.g. peer review and audit process) to ensure the accuracy of the reinsurance contract wordings. Consistently adhere to firm individual performance, productivity and customer (internal and external) satisfaction targets. Oversee diary process, ensure wordings are fully executed within approved time frames. As the subject matter expert, provide guidance to Client Managers and Underwriters on the potential structure of non-routine contracts and endorsements. Stay abreast of industry changes and trends, as well as Munich Re Munich (MRM)/firm contract policy changes. Conduct research and participate in special projects as assigned. Must have Bachelor’s degree in business, risk management or related field. Should preferably have Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Must have 3 years of insurance and/or reinsurance experience, including 1+ year of contract drafting or legal experience. Strong knowledge and understanding of insurance and/or reinsurance principles and documents including contract wording clauses is needed. Strong knowledge of underwriting and claims principles is must. Proficient with Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel is required.
