ProfileContract Manager Generalist The candidate will be responsible for the coordination, preparation, negotiation and execution of a number of different types of contracts, including those with moderate to high risk within the Medical Products Division such as sourcing contracts, clinical contracts and contracts with healthcare professionals. Responsibilities include: Writing, negotiating and reviewing agreement language and budget terms to ensure consistency with company's business and legal requirements within the U.S. and abroad. Interacting with healthcare, contracts and legal professionals outside of company. May lead negotiation team on complex contractual issues. Incorporating negotiated terms, proofreading, editing, preparing final documents, routing for signatures, distributing finals and tracking contract status. Ensuring timely preparation, dissemination, negotiation, completion and execution of contracts. Contributing to divisional contracting initiatives, goals and objectives as part of the MPD Global Contracts Function. Monitoring and tracking active agreements to provide appropriate expiration notifications and coordinating necessary actions including renewals and terminations. Compiling and analyzing contract data and establishing contract metrics. Working with others to develop and implement processes and systems for agreements processing, management and the control of templates and fully executed agreements. Providing guidance to strategic sourcing teams on divisional initiatives, goals and objectives relating to contract activities. Communicating contract policy, practice, and established procedures to strategic sourcing teams and other functions. Working closely with other company Associates in areas of legal, business, finance and product development. Advising business and leadership of contractual rights and obligations. Using independent judgment and creativity to resolve contract issues.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have J.D. or MBA and 1 year of contract management experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of contract management experience. Must have strong negotiation, verbal and written communication skills. Should have strong attention to detail and organizational abilities. Must have experience working with cross-functional teams. Should be competent in computer applications (e.g. Windows, Microsoft Office, contract management systems). Must have experience drafting contract-related documents and identifying circumstances unique to specific contracting situations. Should have ability to: Read, understand and work with complex contracts and contract principles; Conceptualize, define and evaluate risk; Derive hypothetical risk scenarios from proposed business transactions; ability to articulate the same; Function independently and in a self-directed manner, while at the same time within a highly cooperative team environment; Build and maintain internal and external relationships.
