Contract Attorney The candidate will be responsible for supporting business leaders in the negotiation, drafting, and review of sell-side and buy-side agreements including transportation agreements, outsourcing agreements, technology agreements, commercial leases, equipment purchase agreements, and numerous other types of commercial agreements. Duties: Negotiates, drafts, finalizes, and evaluates contracts with customers, outside carriers, suppliers, vendors, and lessors; Develops and leverages internal and external relationships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals; Must be able to balance multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. Provide general legal, compliance and insurance advice. Direct legal support for business transactions and projects involving risk. Identify, assess and manage risk to the company. Participate in other duties as assigned. Doctoral degree (Juris Doctor) from an ABA-accredited law school with excellent academic credentials and license to practice law (and in good standing) in at least one state required. 2+ years at a law firm or in-house legal department required. Experience negotiating, drafting, and reviewing commercial agreements required. Demonstrated ability to influence business leaders and impact decision-making, excellent project management skills, writing skills, listening and oral communications skills, diplomacy, finesse and interpersonal skills required. Strong business judgment and skill in distinguishing between high and low priority legal issues is essential. Ability: to analyze complex legal matters; to work in a fast-paced, changing environment; to work independently or on a team; to effectively communicate with and influence business leaders at all levels of the organization required. Experience: in negotiating and drafting transportation and software/information technology agreements; with real estate transactions and contracts; working in a corporate legal environment preferred.
