Senior Contract Analyst DUTIES: Responsible for executing high-quality clinical research agreements in a timely manner, balancing the needs of all parties while maintaining internal and external relationships. Leading a development process for a growing clinical research program, including partnering with legal to draft and refine research contracting policies, practices, and templates as guidance for the contracts administration team and then educating and training other contracts administration team members; and serving as a project leader for new and existing studies. Drafting, issuing, negotiating and finalizing a variety of clinical trial agreements and ancillary agreements for company sponsored and investigator initiated studies (including budgets). Using sound critical thinking skills to review contract redlines for understanding and intent. Making recommendations regarding how to proceed and securing additional input and approval from legal and/or clinical team as needed before responding to other party. Escalating negotiations from email to telephone in an effort to effectively progress contract negotiations while managing cycle times. Reviewing informed consent documents. Analyzing Fair Market Value (FMV) supporting budget development, negotiation, and documentation. Liaising with clinical teams, legal, reimbursement and other functional groups on clinical trial agreements and informed consents as appropriate. Tracking progress of contract activities, providing status updates to internal and external parties, compiling and analyzing contract data, and maintaining historical contract information. Effectively managing multiple contracting priorities and exerting influence as appropriate to ensure contracts are executed in a timely manner. Meeting regularly, as needed, with study team members and/or other internal stakeholders and proactively providing status updates on contracting activities. Proactively managing workload in accordance with study milestones and shifting priorities. Frequently interacting and communicating with internal customer/client, including senior management, and external other parties. Recognizing opportunities to improve contract processes and proactively taking on process improvements projects after securing manager approval. Providing progress updates and recommends solutions to manager and sharing supported recommendations with contracting personnel. Recognizing communication challenges; proactively and effectively addressing/managing issues with limited manager input.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree. 4 years’ experience with Bachelor's Degree or 2 years’ experience with Advanced Degree (e.g. JD Degree, Master's Degree). Previous experience in customer-facing role. Proven cross-functional experience. Contract negotiation experience. Experience supporting clinical research. Excellent grammar and writing skills. Experience with Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint). DESIRED: Project Management experience. Vendor agreement experience. Budget experience.
