Consultant, Legal Operations Duties: Manage a variety of government, international, and commercial contracts and subcontracts in accordance with company policies and procedures, applicable laws, and customer requirements. Provide remote and on-site advice to business units and project teams on contract and policy compliance matters. Strong business and organizational skills are required, as is the ability to multi-task. Manage more than one Account or, alternatively, be full-time on a single Account, depending on the size/complexity of the agreement. Responding to complex inquiries regarding contract obligations and revisions. Identification of risks and issues, and suggesting alternatives that lead to the best solution. Review and management of contractual obligations of the parties and provision of continual review to ensure that all terms and conditions are met. Preparation and dissemination of information regarding contract status, compliance, modifications, etc.. Acts as the primary contact between the project team and/or business unit and Contract Management, assisting in ensuring that all legal and contractual matters are addressed efficiently and promptly. Acting as Contract Management liaison between clients/vendors. Responsible for ensuring that where Contract Management is deployed, contract compliance is maintained and issues resolved. If the contract is not complied with or issues are not resolved they must be promptly escalated to appropriate executives/directors. Responsible for project or business personnel adhering to company policies and procedures. Responsible for informing the project team of the requirements of the contract and monitoring compliance. Development and integration of contract management tools, templates, methods and processes for the Account. May provide training to global and/or regional Contract Management personnel. Assists in the marketing of the Contract Management function within and to the business units.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: 4 year undergraduate (University/College Degree/Bachelors or equivalent) in a relevant field is required. Advanced degree in business, contract management, law or IT preferred. 8+ years’ experience in the contract management or procurement field. Prefer an individual with a strong desire to grow in the Contract Management, or procurement field. Prefer post-award hands-on contract management experience. A mix of government and commercial experience for Public Services positions. Experience in the related DELL-EMC’s industry preferred. Comprehensive knowledge of general corporate business practices, government and commercial contracting regulations and principles, subcontracting practices, and accounting and finance principles. Ability to apply sound commercial business judgment and set priorities. Strong presentation skills. Able to resolve contracts and pricing issues. Able to advise and interact with all levels of management. Able to demonstrate excellent analytical skills. Excellent oral and written communication and negotiation skills. Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite.
