Chief Compliance Officer The candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing the companyâ€™s longstanding Corporate Compliance and Ethics Program (â€œProgramâ€) throughout the company and its subsidiaries, both domestically and internationally, and is responsible for the promotion of an on-going culture of compliance and prevention of illegal and unethical conduct. Responsibilities include: Oversight and coordination of the companyâ€™s Professional Relations Committee, Health Care Professional contracting and relations; Oversight of the companyâ€™s Open Payments program; Ongoing oversight, auditing and monitoring of the companyâ€™s billing activities as a DMEPOS supplier. Monitor and analyze state and federal laws and payor policies - including Medicare supplier standards, National Supplier Clearinghouse requirements, DME MAC requirements, DMEPOS accreditation requirements and DME state licensure. Manage and supervise the compliance team, field hotline calls and conduct certain internal investigations. Serve as the companyâ€™s HIPAA Privacy Officer and is also responsible for overseeing and managing international compliance efforts to promote compliance with global anti-corruption laws. Report to the Executive Vice President and General Counsel of the company. A Bachelor's degree is required; Master's and/or JD with certification in health care compliance are preferred. 10+ years of legal or compliance experience in healthcare, including experience in a senior in-house legal or compliance position within a public or privately-held company required. An experienced and proven compliance leader that is well versed on applicable rules and regulations and industry codes (e.g., DMEPOS Supplier Standards, Medicare billing rules and regulations, Physician Payment Sunshine Act, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, Anti-Kickback Statute, HIPAA, the AdvaMed Code of Conduct, the MedTech Europe Code of Ethical Business Practice, etc.) with ability to strategically and creatively address compliance challenges while working effectively with senior leadership, key business partners and the companyâ€™s direct and independent sales force, in a fast-paced and highly regulated environment across multiple business units.
