Procurement Counsel Duties: Will be the contracts expert in the Procurement Department and is a licensed attorney responsible for consulting, providing knowledge and advising Procurement Managers and the management team on all complex bids and agreements for indirect spend. Reports directly to the Director, Procurement & Corporate Services. Provides advanced analysis and advice on contract risks and negotiations to the Procurement team and business unit's management and executives. Acts as a liaison between Procurement team and the Law Department, particularly complex contracts that may possess greater risk and legal support. Provides negotiating techniques for complex indirect spend products and services. Acts as a contract law adviser in the area of indirect procurement contracts. Provides advanced legal guidance to the Procurement team and business unit's management and executives in drafting contract language to mitigate business and legal risks. Provides guidance on compliance, ethics and company governance issues. Consults with management, commercial advisor's, outside experts, Legal and Accounting. Provides supervised legal services requested by various departments. Keeps informed on regulations important to the company and ensures appropriate risk management strategies are identified. Participates in the drafting, communication and interpretation of organization and departmental policies. Maintains primary management responsibility for the procurement of Information Technology products and services. Acts as liaison for some global purchasing initiatives; ensuring proactive communication, coordination, and consensus-building among the organization's entities. Assumes responsibility for overseeing domestic and some strategic global RFP and contracting processes for the procurement of materials, supplies, and service required for the organization's operations. Maintains and prioritizes projects for developing and improving performance and achieving the organization's financial goals. Fosters positive relationships with business partners and our internal customers. Monitors industry trends and makes recommendations to maximize business partner performance and results. Ensures contract negotiation compliance with existing ethical and anti-trust regulations, as well as internal controls. Works with auditors to ensure compliance with SOX standards applicable to the procurement and contracting processes. Performs other additional duties as required. Occasional non-standard work hours or overtime as business requires.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Bachelor Degree required. JD Degree from certified education institution strongly preferred. Licensed to practice law in Florida preferred. 5 years of experience in procurement and contract negotiation, drafting, and law interpretation is required. Able to analyze and resolve complex issues and problems in a sound and timely fashion. Able to avoid win/loss situations and ensure productive resolutions of conflict. Able to identify areas of risk/concern in area of responsibility. Able to assimilate research data from a variety of sources, analyze, and recommend appropriate courses of action to take. Able to constructively work under stress and pressure when faced with high workloads and deadlines. Able to create and conduct formal presentations. Able to display assertiveness and a high level of self-confidence. Able to build solid, effective working relationships with others. Able to interact effectively with all levels of management.
