ProfileStaff Attorney The candidate will work with the partner, the Law Center, addressing health and wellbeing in a low-income, immigrant community. Work primarily in public benefits and may address other practice areas affecting social determinants of health. Provide direct legal services to clients and will take a leadership role in developing a regional Social Determinants of Health practice unit. Provide direct services for primarily low-income and Spanish speaking clients. Support program development, including communicating with partners and regional stakeholders. Identify and adapt best practices in medical-legal partnership to ensure high quality services and continuing quality improvement. Work with a diverse interdisciplinary team consisting of legal, medical and social service providers. Identify and address opportunities for systemic change. Spanish language fluency is required. Member in good standing of the California Bar Association and 1+ year of experience in a relevant subject matter of legal aid required. Previous legal experience in public benefits practice in California, employment, or administrative law is preferred. Ability to work effectively with a diverse team of legal and non-legal service providers required. Previous experience interacting with diverse and collaborative teams is preferred.
