ProfileSenior Counsel - Patent - Biosimilars The candidate will develop, implement and execute a market access strategy for biosimilar molecules, including freedom-to-operate analyses for drug substance, drug product, formulations, processes and labeled indications. Will work in all aspects of intellectual property, especially in identification of relevant patents, conducting searches for prior art, analyzing third party patents, developing persuasive legal arguments, drafting opinion, working with experts, and performing other pre-litigation activities. Related trademark and copyright matters, worldwide patent procurement, due diligence, and patent litigation support. Will work individually, in legal teams and in cross-functional business teams.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have J.D. degree or LL.M. degree from an ABA accredited law school, admission to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction and 4 years of experience practicing intellectual property Law AND Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Experience in adversarial proceedings such as oppositions, IPRs, other post-grant proceedings, or litigation in the United States or other jurisdictions preferred. 10+ years of experience practicing patent or intellectual property law desired. Experience at a law firm or a biotechnology/pharmaceutical corporation an asset. An advanced degree or research experience in molecular biology, cell biology, microbiology, biochemistry, genetics, immunology, structural biology, pharmaceutics, chemical engineering or biology a plus.
