Chicago office of our client seeks associate attorney with 1-3 years of civil litigation experience, preferably with employment law experience. The candidate will interview clients and prepare pleadings for filing in federal and state court. Will handle research and writing. Attend court hearings, negotiate on behalf of clients, and formulate and prosecute case strategies. Draft single plaintiff, collective action, and class action complaints. Research and write on a wide variety of issues relating to enforcement of the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Illinois Minimum Wage Law, the Chicago Minimum Wage Ordinance, and the Illinois Wage Payment and Collection Act on behalf of employment clients. Take depositions and present witnesses for testimony. Participate in court-sponsored settlement conferences. Draft executive employment contracts and negotiate on behalf of senior employees. Enhance knowledge of employment law and effective writing by drafting short articles for blog. Educate clients on rights as employees and workers. Should be an Illinois licensed attorney, preferably with admission to the federal court for the Northern District of Illinois.
