ProfileSenior Program Associate, CIJ Duties: Devise, manage, and coordinate technical assistance to program sites (both to local governments and to legal services providers) in the form of peer-to-peer on-site training programs, webinars, conference calls, surveys, phone consultations, site visits, and other means as appropriate; Continuously identify promising practices among programs and devise ways to disseminate information about such practices to encourage implementation elsewhere; Conduct site visits of program sites, which includes plane travel and driving, and draft site visit evaluations; Develop and maintain relationships with project partners; Creatively brainstorm solutions for challenges experienced by program sites; Manage the work of junior project staff and interns; and Assist on other projects as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: A JD degree; 4+ years of legal, government, or policy work experience (including internships); A demonstrated knowledge of immigration law and other justice areas; Ability to read and communicate effectively in Spanish a plus; A desire to effectuate change in partnership with the government; Strong writing and research skills; Strong communication and facilitation skills; Strong data analysis skills; Ability to manage work on multiple projects effectively and efficiently; Ability to work collaboratively on a team, as well as to take initiative and manage projects independently; Ability to successfully balance travel responsibilities with office-based responsibilities; and Experience representing detained immigrants is a strong plus.
