Associate Attorney Duties: Reports to, takes primary direction from and will be supervised by the firm’s Principal/Managing Attorney. Will assist with the firm’s municipal bond transactions and support its private and public entity clients with governance/management matters and the drafting and negotiation of a variety of commercial contracts and business agreements, including license agreements. Lead and work alongside the Managing Attorney on client engagements. Review, draft and/or negotiate commercial contracts and licenses. Structure/advise LLCs, corporations and partnerships. Assist with public finance transactions as co-bond counsel, disclosure counsel or underwriter’s counsel. Consult with and guide clients on proposed business endeavors. Conduct or cause to be completed, necessary research in support of client engagements. Represent the firm at industry events (1 per quarter on average).
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: 5-7 years’ of legal experience in either a law firm or in- house with a business or governmental entity working in related practice areas. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; clear, concise, and grammatically correct. Meticulous attention to detail and impeccable organization/project management skills. Flexible and able to easily handle multiple tasks, respond quickly to changing priorities, while seeing all projects to quality completion in a timely fashion. Adept and mature in balancing real-time client needs with ongoing client workload. Resourceful problem solver; able to “see around the corner†to anticipate possible obstacles and opportunities for the client and the firm. Emotional intelligence that aids in the identification of client sensitivities, and that supports and informs the cohesion and performance of the firm’s team. Strong work-ethic and professional, positive and enthusiastic demeanor. Active listener with a commitment to superb client service. Analytical and quick learner with strong research skills. Self-starter who works exceptionally well independently as well as in a team. Exhibits leadership behavior and attitude toward work by being proactive, taking initiative, accepting accountability and admitting to and correcting mistakes. True desire to learn and grow professionally. Passion for and commitment to the firm’s success; excellent brand ambassador. Skilled proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort with learning and utilizing other software.
