Corporate Counsel, Ethics and Compliance The candidate reports to the Regional Compliance Counsel, Americas to help ensure the company’s Ethics and Compliance Program in the United States and Canada provides employees with clear policies, solutions-oriented counseling, and efficient systems to achieve their business goals consistent with the law and the company’s expectations. Responsibilities: Provide compliance counseling to internal Business Units and Functions on a wide range of anti-corruption, regulatory and legal matters; Develop and implement policies and procedures to support the company’s Ethics and Compliance program (incl. disclosure requirements) and to prevent and detect conduct inconsistent with the company’s policies and the law; Drive awareness regarding the importance of compliance, identify areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, and undertake corrective plans to resolve the issues; Develop, deliver, and oversee training relating to Ethics and Compliance and the company’s policies and the law; Assist in the development and oversight of the Third Party Program (incl. compliance auditing and monitoring program); Perform special assignments or projects, as assigned; Conduct or participate in internal investigations of allegations of potential violations of company policy or the law. Should have Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school (if law degree from outside United States, add an LL.M from an accredited U.S. law school). Must have 5-8 years of experience between private practice and/or in-house role in Ethics and Compliance. Knowledge of and experience with anti-corruption, antitrust and pharmaceutical and medical device product registration, licensing and promotion strongly preferred. Should have familiarity with the global framework affecting the healthcare industry, such as international laws governing healthcare, interactions with healthcare professionals, institutions and government officials, antitrust and competition issues. Must have excellent oral communication and inter-personal skills to inspire and influence employees at every level to embrace company’s Ethics and Compliance initiatives. Fluency in English is required; additional regional language capabilities are preferred.
