'A criminal litigation paralegal is a paralegal who works in the area of criminal law. Some criminal litigation paralegals work for criminal defense lawyers who represent individuals accused of committing crimes. Other criminal litigation paralegals work for state and federal prosecutors who prosecute cases against people accused of committing crimes. Criminal litigation paralegals assist criminal law attorneys with a wide variety of tasks, including communicating with clients, drafting pleadings, making filings, and helping lawyers prepare for trial in state and federal court. Because criminal litigation paralegals are not attorneys and have not been admitted to the bars of any state, they must always work under the direction of a practicing attorney.

Immigration/Criminal Litigation Assistant

The candidate will be arranging and conducting interviews, completing and translating forms and legal documents, reviewing and compiling documents and pleadings, discussing legal documents with attorney, answering telephone calls, preparing and submitting legal documents and packets to the courts, as well as general clerical duties, such as copying, mailing and filing. Preparing attorney for hearings and trials. Must be fully bilingual (English and Spanish), must have basic computer skills, and live locally (Inland Empire). Must be able to multi-task and handle high volume calls and paperwork. 1+ year of experience in immigration cases, knowledge of deportation litigation cases a plus. Prior experience in a law office a plus.'
