Question: I am a college student majoring in Criminal Justice and minoring in Psychology. I really want to work in a law firm, but not as a lawyer. That is not my passion. I would not mind working alongside lawyers doing some research/investigative work. Will my Bachelor's in CJ allow me to do that? What are my chances of getting a worthy career in a great law firm? Thanks for your help.
Answer: I am not exactly sure what you mean by research and investigative work. Insurance agencies and some government departments use investigators who work side-by-side with attorneys. Most law firms do not. Those that do tend to focus on medical malpractice and personal injury cases. Perhaps you should focus your search on them. Remember Erin Brockovich?
Gain an advantage in your legal job search. LawCrossing uncovers hidden positions that firms post on their own websites and industry-specific job boards—jobs that never appear on Indeed or LinkedIn. Don't miss out.
