Summary: Jami Wintz McKeon became the Chair of global law firm Morgan Lewis. With this change in leadership, currently Morgan Lewis & Bockius becomes the largest law firm in the USA headed by a woman attorney. She succeeds Francis M. Milone who had been chair of the firm since 1999. During his tenure Milone led Morgan Lewis through a period of dramatic growth in geographic reach and range of practices.
Jami Wintz McKeon has more than 30 years of practice at Morgan Lewis and has held a number of significant management positions in the firm. Most recently, she led the largest practice group of the firm - Litigation. She also spearheaded the firm's expansion in Texas, California and key commercial centers abroad.
McKeon will continue to handle her litigation practice during her term as Chair. She handles high stakes litigation and advises Fortune 100 companies on complex legal and regulatory issues. She counsels on matters related to mortgage, trust, and credit card issues for some of the largest banks in the world.
She is seen as a leading innovator within the legal industry and one of the earliest proponents of alternative fee arrangements. In fact, at Morgan Lewis, she was instrumental in pioneering several non-traditional fee arrangements with clients. She is also a champion of law firm diversity and technological advancements.
McKeon said, "Our focus on technology, our intense desire to retain and recruit the best and brightest lawyers on the planet, our commitment to add real value to our clients - all arise from our fundamental goal to serve our clients' business needs worldwide."
"Morgan Lewis could not be in better hands," Mr. Milone said of his successor. "Jami's energy, passionate dedication to our core values, and track record of leadership make her ideally suited to lead our firm."
