Dorsey Hires Real Estate Expert Eileen Roberts
International law firm Dorsey & Whitney LLP has announced the recruitment of real estate expert Eileen Roberts to serve as Senior Attorney in the Real Estate and Land Use Group of the law firm's Minneapolis office.
Currently, the real estate team of Dorsey has more than 20 lawyers dealing exclusively with land issues and real estate matters. Additionally the firm also has a team of lawyers, with substantial background in real-estate law, whose expertise can be accessed by the firm's real estate team. With regard to the new addition, Mark Hamel, Chair of Dorsey's Real Estate and Land Use Group said, "We are incredibly fortunate to add a real estate expert like Eileen Roberts to the Dorsey team … We are continuing to strategically add talent across the Dorsey platform to better serve our clients everywhere."
Prior to joining Dorsey, Roberts was the Austin J. Baillon and Caroline M. Baillon Professor of Real Estate Law at the William Mitchell College of Law. During her 24-years career at William Mitchell, Roberts served as Faculty Advisor for the Real Estate Law Society and researched and wrote on real estate law. She is a well-known speaker on continuing legal education and is a regular consultant to the bar for litigation and transactions that involve critical issues of real estate or land use. She is also a Fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers.
The 1989 J.D. holder from William Mitchell expressed her excitement at returning to private practice with Dorsey & Whitney. Explaining her choice on joining Dorsey, she informed that the firm has a strong and multifaceted Real Estate and Land Use practice and a superb client base. Another reason influencing her decision to work at Dorsey could have been the workplace environment. In August this year, Dorsey & Whitney made it to the list for the sixth time on Working Mother & Flex-Time Lawyers Best Law Firms for Women. The firm has earned a place in the 2013 list for the "Best Law Firms for Women," as reported by Dorsey on 12 August. The list is based on surveys and responses from practicing women lawyers.
I was incredibly happy with the site. I thought it was very easy to use; had significantly more postings than any other site (or combination of sites); and provided a lot of useful information. (the number, and caliber, of job postings). Exactly what I was looking for – I have 5 years’ experience and was looking for a lateral move or an in-house position, and that’s exactly what I found!
