Since joining the international corporate law firm of Haynes and Boone in 2002, Denney has represented clients in employment litigation and arbitration matters, handling claims pertaining to age, sex, race national origin, disability, the Family Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, gross negligence, retaliation, defamation, breach of contract, misappropriation, tortious interference, covenants not to compete, and other employment laws and related torts. She has represented employers in matters involving the Department of Labor, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Texas Workforce Commission, and the Fort Worth Human Relations Commission. She has also represented clients in employment arbitrations before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.

She regularly advises employers on a range of issues related to hiring, discipline, termination, harassment, discrimination, and covenants not to compete and also performs public seminars on an array of employment law topics.
In 2011, a Haynes and Boone
team led by Denney was recognized by Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas (LANWT) for providing indigent clients with civil legal representation. As a result of its collaborative work and acceptance of pro bono cases, the firm and American Airlines, were presented with the 2011 Outstanding Law Firm of the Year Award. In the duration of a single year, LANWT assigned more than 12 cases, the majority of which were represented by a Haynes and Boone attorney, with an American Airlines attorney functioning as co-counsel.
Denney, who has been named as one of the top attorneys in labor and employment in Fort Worth, Texas, The City’s Magazine
for three consecutive years, was also listed in the Texas Super Lawyers-Rising Stars Edition in 2006 and from 2008 through 2011.
She is currently a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Young Lawyers Association, the Tarrant County Bar Association, Fort Worth-Tarrant County Young Lawyers Association, and the Labor and Employment Section to the Tarrant County and Texas Bar Associations.
She holds a JD from the University of Texas School of Law
and completed her undergraduate studies at Texas Tech University.

The Outstanding Young Lawyer of Tarrant County Award will be presented to Denney on May 3 at the Tarrant County Bar Association Law Day Dinner. She will subsequently be entered as a nominee for the Texas Outstanding Young Lawyer Award.
