Lisa Iglesias, WellCare Health Plans, Inc.

Iglesias brings with her more than 20 years of legal experience in a range of areas including compliance, corporate governance, securities and commercial transactions. She has functioned as the company’s acting general counsel since September 2011. Prior to that, she served WellCare Health Plans as vice president and assistant general counsel.

Immediately prior to joining WellCare Health Plans in 2010, Iglesias spent a year as general counsel at Nordstrom, Inc.

From 1999 to 2007, she worked at the Florida- based Spherion Corporation, ultimately serving as the company’s senior vice president, general counsel, and secretary. During her time with the recruitment, outsourcing, and technology services company, Iglesias was responsible for the entire legal department and its operations. Earlier in her Spherion career, she was largely involved in mergers, acquisitions, and securities law.

Iglesias joined Spherion directly from the law firm Greenberg Traurig. She also spent several years at KPMG, where she functioned as senior tax specialist. She is a certified public accountant in the state of Florida.

She holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law and is a member of the Florida, Washington, and District of Columbia Bars. She earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Accountancy degrees from the University of South Florida.

Iglesias is a board member with both the American Staffing Association and the American Arbitration Association. She is also an active member of the American Bar Association, the American Corporate Counsel Association, and the American Society of Corporate Secretaries.

When Iglesias’ appointment was announced, WellCare Health Plans also announced the appointment of Daniel R. Paquin to the position of president of National Health Plans. Paquin brings with him more than 20 years of related experience.
