Wachtell Will Advise Pratt & Whitney On $1.5 Billion Aircraft Engine Purchase
The United Technologies owned aircraft engine company- Pratt & Whitney, is planning to pay $1.5 billion for Rolls Royce Group’s stake in International Aero Engines (IAE). After the completion of the deal, Pratt & Whitney will own the majority of the engine joint venture, doubling its stake from 32.5 percent to 65 percent. Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz is the legal adviser to Pratt & Whitney on the transaction and the new joint venture, with a team led by corporate partners Martin Lipton, Joshua Cammaker, and Benjamin Roth. Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer will be advising to Rolls Royce on the matter.
