The different options that you will have after successfully choosing the firm you want to be partners with are the lawyer jobs, attorney jobs and the entry level law firm jobs.

The law firm jobs offer you with high standards of living and it is indeed a very respectable profession. You can enjoy a lot of benefits if you are going for the law firm jobs. The law firm salaries are quite high and a bit of hard work and doing things the right way and you can achieve promotions that will help you to cement your position both if the firm as well as the society.

A few basic advises are all that you need to remember at all times while in the law firm jobs. Here are the 7 steps to make a partner with the firm you want.

You need to be a partner material. This is the most important step among all the others. You will need to convince your peers that you are fit to be in their ranks and then only you can be successfully appointed as the partner. You need to understand the basic facets about working in a group and making yourself heard when you think is right and as for the other times you need to be quiet and learn the tricks of the trade.

If you are thinking that you can be partner as a reward for a job well done then you cannot be more wrong. It is not true that you can be a partner just because you have survived longer that anyone else. It is necessary that you be a good lawyer and a good technician, but it is absolutely essential that you have something extra to offer.

You need to be decision maker and not only a lawyer. You need to come up with the solutions for tricky situations and make things work in your favor. You need to be in charge of your work and have confidence in your abilities. It is absolutely necessary that you demonstrate the leadership qualities that are looked for in a partner.

You also need to be a delegator. It is quite often seen that partners delegate work to the juniors, thus it is absolutely essential that you have a sort of team ready to delegate your work and solve problems while working in a group.

You also need to think like a owner and not just and employee. As the partner you will own shares of the company and the firm will be yours so it is up to you to better the options for your firm.

It is also important that you be an ambassador to the law firm. Act like the spokesperson for the firm.

Lastly you also need to create a network of business relationships by all the means available to you.

Harrison Barnes is the legal profession's mentor and may be the only person in your legal career who will tell you why you are not reaching your full potential and what you really need to do to grow as an attorney--regardless of how much it hurts. If you prefer truth to stagnation, growth to comfort, and actionable ideas instead of fluffy concepts, you and Harrison will get along just fine. If, however, you want to stay where you are, talk about your past successes, and feel comfortable, Harrison is not for you.

Truly great mentors are like parents, doctors, therapists, spiritual figures, and others because in order to help you they need to expose you to pain and expose your weaknesses. But suppose you act on the advice and pain created by a mentor. In that case, you will become better: a better attorney, better employees, a better boss, know where you are going, and appreciate where you have been--you will hopefully also become a happier and better person. As you learn from Harrison, he hopes he will become your mentor.

Success Stories

LawCrossing is fantastic! When I am looking for a job, it is the first place I come to. The service is very good and I enjoyed the emails. LawCrossing has more jobs and it is more tailored. Other sites gave a lot of irrelevant results. Your site may have a great algorithm, but it felt like an actual person choosing jobs they felt would be good based on my search. I will always recommend this site!
