Office of Career Services at William & Mary Law School

Robert E. Kaplan is an Associate Dean of Career Services and Public Service Initiatives, and the Director of the Externships program. He also manages summer and post-graduate public service fellowships, as well as the loan repayment assistance program, and pro bono activities. Organizations for which he has served include NALP, where he served two terms on the Board of Directors, and the Association for Legal Career Professionals. He has also served on various NALP task forces and committees. In addition, he has presented at nearly two dozen NALP conferences. Prior to joining the OCS at William & Mary, Kaplan practiced labor and employment law with a leading law firm. Kaplan holds his Juris Doctorate from the University of Virginia, and his B.S. from Northwestern University.

Ramona J. Sein is a Senior Assistant Dean for the Office of Career Services. Upon graduation from law school, Sein served as a clerk for a senior federal district court judge. As well, she practiced both real estate and land use law with two distinguished law firms. While attending law school, she worked as an intern for a U.S. Attorney's Office, and a mid-size law firm. She also worked as the Symposium Editor of the William and Mary Environmental Law and Policy Review.


Since she has returned to William & Mary, Sein has both chaired the State Court Work Group of NALP's Judicial Clerkship Section, and served as the Law School's liaison to the I'Anson-Hoffman American Inn of Court. She holds her Juris Doctorate from William & Mary, a M.U.R.P. from the University of Virginia, and an A.B. from Georgetown University.

Judith A. Corello is a Career Counselor at William & Mary. Before joining the Law School, Corello served as the Associate Director of Career Services at William & Mary's Mason School of Business. Not only is she an MBTI® Certified Practitioner with a Master of Education degree in Counseling, she served as the Director of the International Student Office at Old Dominion University, and as an Adjunct Professor of English at the University of Grenoble in France. Corello holds a M.Ed. from the University of New Hampshire, and both a B.A. and an M.A. from Emmanuel College.

Rebecca W. Knowles is an Assistant Dean at William & Mary. She has practiced with four prominent law firms in a variety of regions throughout the country. In addition, she has also served as Vice President and Associate General Counsel in the legal departments of two Fortune 100 corporations. In these roles, she practiced litigation and litigation management. During law school, she served on the Virginia Journal of International Law's editorial board. Presently, she serves as the liaison for the Law School's I'Anson-Hoffman American Inn of Court. She holds her J.D. from the University of Virginia, and her B.A. from the University of Georgia.

Jennifer M. Thurston is an Assistant Dean at William & Mary. Responsible for strategies for communication, employer outreach and student programming, Thruston began her career at W&M over four years ago, when she joined the Law School as Assistant Dean for Admission. She holds a J.D. from the University of Richmond, and a B.A. from the College of William & Mary.
