The Staff of the Career Services Office at California Western School of Law

Career Services works diligently to assists students and alumni with finding associate, law clerk and attorney positions with law firms, public interest organizations and government agencies. The office of Career Services has an established network for job openings all over the country.

Courtney Miklusak, Esq., Director of Career Services for California Western, is responsible for all operations of the office. By actively promoting California Western to the legal community, she is able to substantially increase employment opportunities for students and alumni. She works to ensure students and alumni have the skills and information necessary to access those opportunities.


A graduate herself of California Western School of Law, Courtney practiced both civil litigation and transactional law in San Diego for seven years before joining the Career Services Office. Because of her vast knowledge of the San Diego legal market, she regularly offers students qualified advice on employment opportunities.

Angela Kim Zugman, Esq., Associate Director of Career Services for California Western, counsels first, second and third year students. As well, she oversees Career Services programs to ensure students are knowledgeable about the legal market. Her seven years of experience in private practice enables her to offer real world, practical advice to students and graduates alike.
Her involvement in various legal and community-based organizations also enables her to offer unique networking opportunities for students.

Matthew Lab, Esq., Assistant Director of Career Services for California Western, counsels first, second and third year students and recent graduates. He works closely with the Director and Associate Director in implementing a wide variety of career development programs. His nine years of experience, both in private practice as well as in house in the area of real estate, enables him to offer students knowledge in a niche area, as well as practical advice on the legal market. Additionally, Matthew is an adjunct instructor of real estate law with the San Diego Community College District. This position enables him not only to educate students of law, but to stay on the cutting edge of the important employment and other issues facing students.

Additionally, Catherine Zingale, Esq. serves as Graduate Career Advisor, Robin Lake, Esq. serves as Seasonal Career Advisor, and Maya Carlin serves as Manager of Career Services Projects & Support. Together, the Career Services staff possesses over sixty collective years of experience in law practice.
