Kaminer replaces Paul Banta, who served as the company's executive vice president, general counsel, and secretary. Banta leaves Epocrates on July 1st, in pursuit of other interests.

Most recently Kaminer held the position of general counsel at MediMedia Inc., a specialty healthcare communications, publishing, and medical education company. Prior to joining MediMedia, Kaminer spend six years with WebMD Health Corporation, where he served as the assistant general counsel and chief privacy officer. During his time at WebMD, he was in charge of dealing with issues in connection with corporate intellectual property, technology, privacy, regulatory, and employment law. He started his legal career as an associate at Fulbright & Jaworski.

Kaminer earned his JD from George Washington University Law School in 1999 and has a BS in computer science from Pennsylvania State University.
