Thomas J. Wiencek completed his Law Degree at Michigan State University, in 1985, cum laude. Other Degree work was a BA in 1978 from Colgate Univeristy and an MILR from Michage State University in 1979. Attorney Wiencek was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1985. He is a member of the Bar Association in both Akron and Cleveland, Ohio.
He became one of a small group of lawyers who were certified to practice Labor and Employment Law in Ohio. He was given acknowledgement for his support to advance the labor law through his involvement as contributing editor for ''Developing Labor Law''.
He has published articles and made presentations on a number of Labor issues. He speaks often to the Ohio State Bar Association’s Midwest Labor Conference. Here is a short list of his articles:

Attorney Wiencek is an Ohio SuperLawyer named by the Cincinnati Magizine since 2003. He was also selected as one of ''The Best Lawyer's in America'' in 2008. - Negotiations and Elections: Offers experience in labor negotiations for industry groups and labor unions.
- OSHA: Counsels Clients with OSHA safety and health compliance regulations. Attorney Wiencek manages OSHA inspections involving injuries or fatalities with a direction toward minimal exposure for clients to the penalties OSHA enforces.
- Worker's Compensation: The laws are specific to each state and Attorney Wiencek specializes in this benefit package.
Attorney Thomas J. Wiencek has spent a great deal of his professional time making his mark in law. Aside from his professional life he is also active in community service. He is a member involved in ministries at the St. Peter Church of Cleveland. The Rebuilding Cleveland project counts on Tom Wiencek annually. Perhaps one his most important community services is being a trained ''listener''’ for the Lakeside Men’s Shelter in Cleveland.
