Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton Expands Government Contracts Practice
The government contracts practice of Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton, LLP's Washington, DC, outlet has grown with the recent addition of W. Bruce Shirk. Shirk, who was previously with Powell Goldstein, focuses on government and construction contract law and litigation. Akerman Loses Seven Shareholders
Seven Akerman Senterfitt shareholders have left the Miami firm to join others. Akerman's president, Robert Zinn, denies that the departures are related or that others are also expected to leave, though several insiders have noted that the state of the firm's finances may have played a role. (Zinn has denied that claim as well.) The seven who have left include Larry Silverman, James Sammataro, and Scott Cosgrove, who together intend to establish their own boutique firm; James Crosland, David Miller, and Denise Heekin, who have joined Bryant Miller Olive; and Sean Santini, who intends to join Boyd, Mustelier, Smith & Parker.
Aaron Danzig Rejoins Arnall Golden Gregory
Litigation attorney Aaron Danzig has rejoined Atlanta-based Arnall Golden Gregory, LLP. Danzig's practice focuses extensively on white-collar criminal defense, internal corporate investigations, business and intellectual property, and corporate compliance and governance matters. Danzig returns to Arnall Golden after a five-year hiatus from the private sector, during which he served as Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia.
