Two of the men involved, Walter Alexander and Charles Cashmore, pleaded guilty on Tuesday and have agreed to testify against Simpson, Clarence Stewart, Michael McClinton, and Charles Ehrlich for retrieving memorabilia from a Las Vegas hotel room Simpson claimed were his.

The items taken included Simpson-signed footballs, Joe Montana lithographs, photos of Simpson with the Heisman Trophy, framed awards and plaques, and Pete Rose- and Duke Snider-autographed baseballs.

With the new charges of felony coercion filed against the four men, the number of charges has reached 12, "including kidnapping, armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy, and coercion — and one gross misdemeanor, conspiracy to commit a crime. A kidnapping conviction alone could result in a sentence of life in prison with parole," says an article on CourtTV.com.

Simpson is "not guilty, and we continue to say he is not guilty of any crime," said Yale Galanter, Simpson's lawyer, while Jose Pallares, Stewart's lawyer, "denied allegations" that Stewart and Simpson tried to persuade the others to lie to the authorities about guns involved. And Ehrlich's lawyer, John Moran Jr., thought the new charges were filed too late and put defense attorneys at a disadvantage.

But according to Alexander's and Cashmore's lawyers, the two men can testify that guns were used, despite Simpson's opposing claims.

Both Alexander and Cashmore, who face probation and/or prison, will receive sentencing after April 15.
