Entertainment is perhaps one of the hardest industries to find steady employment even after extensive education. Entertainment paralegals must be comfortable working in fast-paced environment. Readiness to take on any of the challenges and tasks that an entertainment attorney may delegate is always essential. They may work in the different areas of entertainment field such as film, music, television, radio, theater, multimedia, publishing, visual arts and design, and defamation. Entertainment paralegals work behind the scenes and their contribution is mostly not visible. Assisting the entertainment attorneys is the main duty of an entertainment paralegal. Work activities can range from filing copyright applications to preparing initial drafts of recording, producer, mixer, management and termination agreements. Other duties may include drafting letters on behalf of a client advising the contracting party they have failed to perform certain obligations under the agreement. At present there are no standard employment qualifications for entertainment paralegals. However, some formal training or higher education, particularly in paralegal studies is a must. Work experience in the legal community is also a huge plus and may increase employment prospects.
