Corporate Legal Assistant Jobs Corporate Legal Assistants have an opportunity to work with high profile attorneys in all aspects of corporate transactions. An increased demand for legal services and a desire to reduce legal costs give rise to job opportunities for legal assistants and it is anticipated that legal assistant jobs will continue to multiply, particularly in the corporate arena. These assistants perform complex secretarial, administrative, word processing and clerical support activities related to the specific work and function of corporate attorneys and paralegals. An ideal corporate legal assistant will always be familiar with merger and acquisitions, corporate finance, due diligence procedures, disclosure schedules and closing binders, SEC and UCC filings, corporate formation and drafting and maintaining corporate minute books. Experience in corporate transactional and litigation matters is also preferred. Knowledge of searching procedures for SEC filing information using EDGAR database; familiarity with editing and working with SEC filing materials; maintenance of corporate minute books; knowledge and understanding of due diligence process; creating and editing stock certificates becomes inevitable for Corporate Legal Assistants. Excellent typing and dictation skills are essential. They need to be extremely deadline-oriented. They may also provide leadership to secretaries and others in corporate procedures. Overtime may often be required.
