In simple language compliance is understood either as a state of being in accordance with established guidelines, specifications, or legislation or the process of becoming so. The law provides the basis and principles which the concerned people should adhere to. Compliance laws can be related to various areas of law including complying with corporate laws affecting companies, employment and labor laws, healthcare laws, etc. Compliance Paralegals work to see that companies remain in compliance with rules and regulations set forth by various regulatory agencies established nationally as well as oversees. They assist the companies and their subsidiaries with adherence to internal policies and procedures. They will see to it that work of the organisation is compliant with all applicable laws and they will also ensure that work is undertaken in a manner that would protect the employer from needless litigation or hassles. Compliance Paralegals may work in all areas of the law, including litigation, bankruptcy, corporate law, criminal law, employee benefits, patent and copyright law, and real estate. At present there is no educational requirements for paralegals however, employers need candidates with formal paralegal training obtained through associate or bachelor's degree programs, or certificate programs.
