Native People Law Jobs Native People Law is made specifically to assist the Native American Tribes with all the aspects of legal affairs. The attorneys practicing in this area work for tribal members who are charged with the commission of offenses. Will also be working closely with the Tribal Police Department and other Tribal Departments to protect and enhance the welfare and safety of the tribal community. Also participate in the negotiation and management of inter-governmental law enforcement agreements with local and state agencies. Provision of legal services in various aspects of tribal government, federal tribal relations, jurisdiction issues, environmental and natural resource law or policy, economic development, tribal business enterprises, and employment issues forms an important part of the attorneys duties. Represent the clients in judicial, executive, or administrative proceedings. An attorney should have a JD degree with admission to the local state bar. Commitment and solid passion to work in this area is an absolute must to succeed in this area.
